Why ...

... have ventured into this crazy project of implantable cardiac assistance for life, without energy input, all without stopping the blood flow (beating heart)?

I knew someone I liked very much and who unfortunately suffered from late stage heart failure. She also died later. It is for this reason that I began to study a system to one day remedy this crucial problem.

I am driven by a conviction: helping humanity is achievable!

You have to be determined in what you do ...

Researcher in various fields, I had the chance to work with a great professor and friend, Daniel GUILMET of the Foch Hospital in Suresnes (92), on the subject of an artificial heart mounted in place of the native heart, and which gave very good results. But the latter required external energy.
Other cardiac assistance systems currently exist but all of them need external energy, so they are limited in time. Recourse to a heart transplant is the most classic operation but remains subject to constraints undoubtedly linked to availability, delays, compatibilities and operational risks.

Subsequently, I continued my experiments in Novara (Italy) with the help of a team of Italian-French researchers and well-known surgeons, with the agreement of the Italian Ministry of Health.

Of course, improvements will still be necessary but the hope is immense, given the importance of the world needs in the field of heart failure.

The finding? Faced with the needs, a system combining:

Simplicity - Efficiency - Autonomy - Reversibility

Since then, studies have progressed well. Experiments to test the reliability of the system were carried out at a veterinary clinic near Turin, still receiving approval from the Italian Ministry of Health.

Our system acts like a second heart and works in automatic counterpulse. Simple to manufacture and implant, it will also improve the performance of the weakened native heart and allow many patients to do without a donor. In addition, this assistance can be removed without any difficulty if this proves possible or necessary.
